Daily prompt- How do you define a successful life?
Success to me has always been rooted in my relationship with God and caring for my family. I’ve worked hard in my career, and I’m grateful that those accomplishments have allowed me to provide for my family and help others along the way.
But when I think about what truly matters, success is much more personal. It’s how I love people, how I treat them, and whether my life reflects the Jesus I profess to follow.
My hope is that people who cross my path are drawn closer to Christ because of what they see in me, rather than pushed away by how I’ve represented Him. I know I won’t always get that right, but it’s something I want to keep growing in. I want my life to be remembered as one that loved greatly but also spoke truth in that love.
Paul reminds us to “run in such a way as to get the prize” (1 Corinthians 9:24). I want to run this race faithfully, not perfectly, but with perseverance, keeping my eyes on Christ and finishing well.
And when this life is over, more than any accomplishment or recognition, I long to hear the words, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant” (Matthew 25:21).
To me, that is a life well lived.
